Welcome to God's Ridge Farm
Where our Heart is. In the fall of 2010, we found ourselves looking at a piece of property on the end of a ridge in central West Virginia. There were so many trees on the property that most people who had looked at it previously, never saw the potential or the lay of the land. We however, walked the property several times before deciding to buy it in 2011. We have right at 20 acres, which is more than enough for a good homestead, to date we have only touched around 5 acres.
Our property is so far from the beaten path that our closest neighbor is a half mile away. It took the power company 4 months just to run the power lines to our home due to us being at the end of the line. We can't even get telephone lines! That is just fine with us, we stay busy around here anyway. Each year, we complete more and more projects to make God's Ridge Farm more manageable, efficient, and functional. We are constantly clearing trees and brush to open new areas. We set fences, build barns, add water storage systems, put up our hay for the year, while helping neighbors put their hay up during the process. While at the same time we also garden, can meats, vegetables and sauces, but most of all we thank God everyday for this place. To us, God's Ridge Farm is beautiful, peaceful and quiet...just what God intended. |
